[That didn't take up as much storage space as my other collection of antique postcard scans from ebay listings, untileable fabric and wrapping paper photos, distorted pdf thumbnails- I'll work on that problem another year.]

I use some of them to decorate my own webpages, but for every perfect divider gif I find, there are 10 that I'd want to edit later, and a hundred that would fit someone else's site.  "Early Web" / Angelfire / Myspace enthusiasts.  It's surprisingly difficult to find these through google image reverse searches; every glittering heart gif leads back to the same few. 

By uploading these to display in automatic php galleries,  I can find whatever exact image I need at a glance, if I vaguely remember the context.  Some are cluttered and totally useless.  It could be repurposed into a very lazy and derivative art piece, especially if you wrote an artist statement and stepped around collage [ Richard Prince ].  I don't always hate on digital art or 'new media', I swear... ____

I also downloaded so many ancient banners and award images.  Those are closer to art.  Here's a page that wasn't auto-generated.  .
